About me
Hey there! My name is Melissa (she/her/hers), and I'm a marketing writer at BILL, where I craft customer video narratives, write social copy, and much more.
Before joining BILL, I was a staff writer covering health, wellness, money, and career through the lenses of identity and social justice for Mic's Life vertical. I've also contributed to Discover, The Cut, VICE, and the Los Angeles Times, among other outlets.
In a past life, I researched aggressive brain tumors at the University of California, San Francisco and earned a BA in molecular and cell biology from the University of California, Berkeley. As a lab rat-turned-writer, I have a knack for distilling complex ideas into clear, compelling stories and a penchant for data-driven writing.
I hold an MA in communications from the Stanford Graduate School of Journalism. I'm a Writers Grotto member and a Tin House Summer Workshop 2020 alumna, and I'm at work on a memoir.
